Dr. Angela Gichaga
Co-Executive Director, Africa Frontline First
Dr. Angela Gichaga is the Co-Executive Director of Africa Frontline First. Africa Frontline First is an Africa-led partnership from the Community Health Impact Coalition, the Financing Alliance for Health, and Last Mile Health to increase financing for community health to save and improve lives in Africa.
Dr. Gichaga also serves as the CEO of Financing Alliance for Health, which is an organization committed to building resilient and sustainably financed primary and community health systems in partnership with Ministries of Health and Finance. In her leadership role, and, in coordination with the Project Advisory Committee and fiscal sponsor Capital for Good USA, she is responsible for strategic development and fundraising, initiative development, stakeholder engagement, recruiting and team development, and management at Financing Alliance for Health.
Dr. Gichaga is a clinician and health economist. Notably, She served the Kenya Ministry of Health as a District Medical Officer of Health (DMOH) and a hospital in charge (MEDSUP) in Meru and Garbatulla, supporting 150 multi-disciplinary team members to coordinate strategic planning, resource mobilization, recruitment, monitoring, and capacity building through on job training and mentorship. She then joined the Ministry of Health’s headquarters, where she co-developed national strategies and prepared reports on the country’s health achievements. Most recently, Dr. Gichaga worked at McKinsey & Company’s Africa Delivery Hub (ADH) working across multiple sectors, especially on socio-economic and development issues in Africa. Dr. Gichaga completed her undergraduate degree in medicine, her graduate degree in Health Economics and Policy, and a Fellowship in Public Sector Management.
